Touchétech Labs Pvt Ltd (TTLPL) is a social enterprise committed to creating innovative solutions for the differently-abled, with a focus on empowering the visually impaired.

Around the world, 285 million people live with visual impairment, including 39 million who are completely blind. While literacy and education are universally valued, literacy for the blind—available only through Braille—is increasingly at risk. Screen readers and text-to-speech tools have improved accessibility, but paradoxically, they are also pushing Braille—the only true form of literacy for the blind—towards obsolescence.

This is where TTLPL steps in. Founded by inventor Paul DSouza, whose lifelong passion for solving complex problems has spanned fields from watchmaking and electronics to optics, machining, and even antique restoration, TTLPL is now dedicated to preserving Braille literacy through Touché—a refreshable Braille display.

Touché has earned global recognition, winning National Geographic’s Shaping the Future award, the Innovation for Good award from Lund University (Sweden), and being showcased at Bangalore’s first Mini Maker Faire. Extensively tested with teachers, students, and families, Touché is now in its final stages of development, ready to bring literacy, learning, and independence to millions of visually impaired people worldwide.

Leading this mission is Paul DSouza, TTLPL’s Chief Technology Officer, alongside N. J. L. Rodrigues, who manages operations and ensures smooth execution across projects.
